PLANNING YOUR WEDDING - BOOK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER IN GOOD TIME

POSY BOUQUET BY PC CREATIONS LEEDS: Pink and ivory roses bound with white satin ribbon

My daughters absolutely love the art of photography. Admittedly they're both very creative. For her birthday 2 years ago, my youngest made the specific request of a particular camera. The purchase of which I can honestly say was worth every penny. She's a blogger and the camera is integral to what she does.

The eldest and her partner are avid photographers with quite an eclectic collection of cameras, some quite dated, and not even in good working order.

Truth be known, I'm really not a fan of photography, but I do know how important photographs are when it comes to capturing a moment in time that you can return to over, and over again.

A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER IS A MUST FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

For any of you that have already been through the process of getting married, you probably take a sneak peek of that photograph album every now and then. Admit it, there are some of those pictures that you just do not like that much at all. Is it the surroundings, the crooked smiles, or the squinting eyes? Yes they're all the things that make your wedding unique but they're not always appreciated.

ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED SOON?

There are some things that you can ensure you will be happy about every time you look back at your photographs. It may be that quirky picture of the bridesmaids, the decor, the colour scheme or the bridal flowers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW

  • Secure a photographer that already has a commendable track record.

  • Check their portfolio. It doesn't have to be a professional photographer, therefore if a friend recommends someone don't automatically dismiss the idea.

  • Look at examples of their work first. All photographers have their own unique style.

  • Only then can you make an informed decision.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DISCUSS WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

  • To avoid any unwanted shocks or disappointment. It's vital that you tell your photographer exactly what you do and do not want. Some are willing to negotiate, others are not.

  • Trust their expertise but have your say too.

  • The packages on offer can be so varied. so make sure you're going to get what you really want for your money.

  • Do you want pictures at home before the wedding?Do you need all colour?

  • Don't be afraid to shop around, but give yourself enough time to do so.

WORD OF ADVICE - START PLANNING FOR YOUR EVENT EARLY!

This will allow you good time to amend any little thing that will make a big difference to you on YOUR VERY SPECIAL DAY. xx

We wish you every success on your wedding day.
