WEDDING PLANNING AND WHAT THE GROOM SHOULD KNOW.

Updated: Jul 27, 2021

Grooms if you're planning on getting married in the next few months you are already aware of how stressful it can get.

If you're feeling as if you're in the centre of a vortex getting sucked slowly down a giant plug hole, stop! Breath!

Take a few minutes to read, relax and refresh your thoughts.

It's expected that the bride might have the helm firmly gripped on this journey, but there's still much for you to do. If you have left yourself enough time, there really is no need to get too stressed and allow things to overwhelm you.

14 THINGS A GROOM CAN DO TO

STAY IN CONTROL

  • Get the groomsmen clothing sorted out in good time.

  • Don’t forget the buttonholes, have a spare for yourself just in case of mishaps

  • Make sure you have several spare buttonhole pins, they break, they bend and dependent on the buttonhole you may need a minimum of 2 for each buttonhole.

  • Familiarise yourself with how and where to place your buttonhole on your jacket.

  • Don’t forget to organise gifts for the groomsmen.

  • Make sure you have a Thank You Speech prepared, that way you won’t be fumbling for words even if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

  • Have the groomsmen wear the same colour socks and shoes. Remember, uniformity is the key.

  • There will be last minute hiccups, so absolutely anything you can do before the day, do it, it will help you to keep the blood pressure under control.

  • Yes you’re the groom, you can make any statement you want with your socks, but it’s always nice to see the socks blend in with the shoes and the suit and not clash or shout tacky.

  • If you told your bride to be that you will do something, do it and avoid the arguments and falling out.

  • Be aware this will be quite a stressful time for both of you. There is a lot to do, so share the load with a smile.

  • If you know you’re not a very organised person, then sort out a spreadsheet or notebook. and keep a record of all the things you need to do and when.

  • If you want to be more involved in the wedding planning then make your bride to be aware, she will appreciate the input.

  • Keep a tally of all your spending and payments yet to be made.

  • Remember you have a Best Man, make sure he's doing his part. If you have chosen a best man and not just a best mate, then things should go pretty smooth.

ENJOY THE DAY!
