The customer is always right, is that really true? The bride is definitely right when it comes to what she wants, but depending on the end result that is required, she may well need some well informed advice.

WORD OF ADVICE - FIND THE RIGHT PERSON TO HELP YOU

It's so exciting when you find someone who is willing to sit down and help you to achieve your wedding day dream. It is also extremely important for that person to fully understand your dream. They will need the skills to be able to execute the plan that will make that dream come true.

WORDS OF WARNING

  • Your closest friend that has seen you through thick and thin maybe the best company in the world, but does he/she have what it takes?

  • Don't chose someone just out of loyalty or because you feel it's what's expected.

  • I'm a great believer in word of mouth, and taking recommendations from friends. If the people that want the best for me recommend someone due to past good experiences, good customer service and such, then I'm definitely going to consider their advice.

DO YOU REALLY NEED HELP?

Accepting help in planning to perfection one of the most important days of your life is nothing to be scoffed at.

You might have quite elaborate ideas about the day, on the other hand you maybe planning for a small and quite cosy affair which will not be at all difficult to remain in control of. Either way, you can see below that preparing for even the smallest wedding is no simple task:

  • Secure and reserve ceremony (Date and Venue)

  • Secure and reserve reception venue

  • Reserve reception band or DJ

  • Reserve caterer / Finalize menu with caterer / Finalize head count with caterer

  • Reserve florist

  • Reserve photographer / Discuss photo wish list with photographer

  • Order cake

  • Finalize and reserve wedding day transportation

  • Order wedding favors (if desired)

  • Mail wedding invitations / Ask a friend or relative to harass guests who haven't RSVP'd

  • Have a trial run for makeup

  • Arrange a Hen Night / stag do

  • Finalize and print programs

  • Make table seating chart

  • Write toasts...

What you see above is only a snippet of the things you need to be aware of when planning for your wedding day.

Unless you're lucky enough not to have any other pressing responsibilities most days of the week, you're going to find the wedding planning process quite stressful at times. So why not share the load.

YOU NEED TO TRUST THE PERSON THAT IS GOING TO HELP YOU TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING

Finding the right person to help you to plan your wedding is a little like locating your ideal counsellor. Your relationship will be based on trust.

When it comes to planning your special occasion find that special person. A person that understands exactly what you want, and can help you to deliver.

A WORD OF ADVICE - Don't be offended if you are presented with alternative ideas to consider, be open-minded, you may be pleasantly surprised.

REMEMBER - You have the final say.

Enjoy the journey. xx
