THE SHAPE OF YOUR BOUQUET

If you are planning your wedding you may already know what type of flowers you want to carry down the aisle, but do you know what shape?

I had a loose tied bouquet when they weren't necessarily considered fashionable or trendy. I just knew I wanted something that was not too large, with lots of baby's breath (gypsophila), and baby blue gerberas.

You've probably already looked into the different bouquet shapes available, but just in case you haven't you might want to consider any of the following;

HANDHELD (with rounded shape)

Round Brides Bouquet by PC Creations Leeds

Posy - small and round, usually held upright in one hand

Nose Gay - smaller than a posy. Hand tied bouquet which, can include sweet scented flowers or herbs

Round - as the name implies, but larger than a posy, normally held with both hands

Composite - bouquet made up of lots of individual petals. Looks like a large flower

HANDHELD (various shapes)

Cascade - waterfall shape

Pageant - similar to the cascade

Arm Sheaf - longer stemmed flowers

Crescent - as the name implies

Free form - This bouquet has no set shape hence the name, what makes it stand out from the rest is the size. This is an over-sized bouquet which was popular in the 40's and 50's which seems to be making a comeback.

Bridesmaid Wand Red and White Roses by PC Creations

STEMLESS

Pomander - a ball of flowers. Held by a loop of ribbon

Wand - as the name implies. Usually held by a flower girl or bridesmaid

Circlet / Flower Hoop (See Floral Crown / Head Circlet blog page - CLICK TAG AT FOOT OF THIS BLOG)

Wrist / Bracelet - An arrangement of flowers worn around the wrist

This is not an exhaustive list, but it does give you an idea of the choices available to you, and brings home the fact that the standard handheld bouquet has a lot of contenders in 2018.

Whatever your choice, PC Creations wishes you every success with your planning.
